Diagnostics First
Fault-code checks and a suitability assessment before programming. Warning lights, limp mode and drivability faults should be handled before tuning.
In-House Calibration
PPG file analysis and calibration using licensed software and genuine master tools, matched to supported ECU software. PPG does not supply generic slave files as its current remapping service.
Original File Backup
The original ECU file is retained where supported, giving a route back to standard later if the ECU and vehicle allow it.
Warranty & Guarantee
Stage 1 tuning includes a lifetime software warranty personal to the original customer for their lifetime, with no time or mileage limit. This lifetime cover applies only to Stage 1 tuning, excludes other services, and any warranty reinstallation must be carried out exclusively by PPG. PPG will correct defects introduced by PPG in the original calibration and reinstall the PPG software originally supplied if a dealer, manufacturer update or another party overwrites it. This covers the original tuned vehicle's software; compatibility checks and arrangements are explained in the published terms. Separately, the money-back guarantee requires notice within 30 days and is subject to the 1,000-mile limit and return conditions in the published terms. The mileage limit does not limit the lifetime software warranty.

A Stage 1 remap is for healthy petrol, diesel and light commercial vehicles without unresolved mechanical or emissions faults.

Use the remap checker or booking form with the registration, vehicle details and any known warning lights or recent repair history.

Health check before tuning
PPG checks fault codes and basic suitability. If the vehicle is not healthy enough to tune, diagnosis comes before calibration.

Read, calibrate, program
The ECU software is identified, the original file is retained where supported, and the Stage 1 calibration is written using suitable tools.

Are power and torque gains guaranteed?
No. Figures are vehicle-dependent. Calculator figures are estimates and should not be treated as measured dyno results.
Can a faulty vehicle be remapped?
Vehicles with unresolved faults should be diagnosed before tuning. A remap does not repair mechanical, emissions, boost, clutch or gearbox faults.
Can the remap be removed?
Usually, yes. Where supported, PPG retains the original ECU file so it can be restored later.
Is mobile remapping available?
Some supported vehicles and suitable locations may be eligible for mobile availability, but workshop booking is preferred when diagnostics or extra checks are likely.
Do I need a dyno run?
No, not for every Stage 1 booking. PPG calibrates and validates using real-life driving scenarios because that is where the vehicle actually has to perform. A dyno is mainly used to verify maximum BHP in controlled conditions, and that peak figure is not something you will consistently achieve on the road.
