What Causes AdBlue® Crystallisation?

AdBlue® is injected into the exhaust system to help reduce harmful nitrogen oxide emissions. When the fluid dries or is exposed to certain operating conditions, it can leave behind hard white crystalline deposits.

Crystals And Deposits

Deposits can form around injectors, dosing pipes, filler necks, caps, pumps, delivery components and other SCR system areas.

Restricted Flow

If crystallisation continues, it may contribute to restricted flow, poor dosing and further deterioration of the system.

Common Triggers

Short journeys, low exhaust temperatures, fluid contamination and existing SCR faults can increase the likelihood of deposits forming.

Developed And Tested By PPG

We did not want to offer another weak, off-the-shelf additive. The formula is exceptionally concentrated and designed for accurate dosing.

Real-World Testing

Our PPG AdBlue® Anti Crystal Cleaner has been repeatedly tested, and we have achieved excellent results when treating existing crystallisation and helping protect the system against further build-up.

Highly Concentrated

Only 2 ml is required for every 1 litre of AdBlue®. Each 20 ml vial can therefore treat up to 10 litres of AdBlue®.

Simple And Accurate Dosing

Every vial is supplied with a 5 ml measuring syringe, allowing the correct amount to be measured accurately.

5 litres of AdBlue®Requires 10 ml of treatment.
10 litres of AdBlue®Requires the full 20 ml vial.
Important: the recommended dosage is 2 ml of treatment per 1 litre of AdBlue®. This treatment must only be added to the AdBlue® tank. It must never be added to the diesel fuel tank.

What Are The Benefits?

You are unlikely to find anything close to this concentration on a typical shop shelf.

  • Treats existing crystallisation within the AdBlue® and SCR system
  • Helps prevent further crystal formation and deposits
  • Reduces the risk of continued deterioration caused by build-up
  • Supports the operation of the AdBlue® dosing system
  • Provides a powerful treatment from a very small dose

Is This A Replacement For Diagnostics?

No treatment can repair a failed pump, damaged injector, faulty NOx sensor, wiring fault or another mechanical or electrical failure.

Assessment First. Diagnose Properly. Fix It Right.
If your vehicle already has an AdBlue® warning, engine-management light, starting countdown or stored SCR fault codes, the system should be properly assessed. The cleaner may help treat crystallisation, but it should not be used to disguise an unresolved fault.

Cleaner Questions

Quick answers before using the treatment.

How much cleaner do I use?

Use 2 ml of treatment per 1 litre of AdBlue®. A 20 ml vial treats up to 10 litres.

Where do I put it?

Only add the treatment to the AdBlue® tank. Never add it to the diesel fuel tank.

Will it fix an AdBlue warning?

Not necessarily. If the vehicle has a warning, countdown, engine-management light or SCR fault codes, proper assessment is recommended first.

What comes in the pack?

Each pack includes one 20 ml vial of concentrated treatment and one 5 ml measuring syringe.
