Performance
Better mid-range torque and throttle response for everyday overtaking, dual carriageway driving and motorway use.
Stage 1 remapping for Belfast drivers who want stronger torque, sharper response and a cleaner driving feel from a healthy standard vehicle. PPG uses an assessment-first process from the Newtownards workshop serving Belfast and wider Northern Ireland.
Warning light, limp mode, smoke, clutch slip, DPF or AdBlue fault? Book diagnostics first so the cause is tested before money is spent on the wrong repair.
Stage 1 offer
A clear route for drivers who want stronger torque, sharper response and smoother daily drivability from a healthy standard vehicle. Workshop appointments are handled at 36A Donaghadee Road, Newtownards, with Belfast drivers supported by the same diagnostics-first process.
What Stage 1 is for
Stage 1 is intended for standard vehicles that are mechanically healthy. It can improve how the car feels on real Belfast roads without asking the customer to guess whether the fault light should be ignored.
Better mid-range torque and throttle response for everyday overtaking, dual carriageway driving and motorway use.
Improved low-down delivery can help suitable vans, diesels and tow vehicles feel less strained.
Some drivers choose a smoother economy-focused calibration, but fuel savings depend on vehicle, condition and driving style.
A sharper but controlled response can make the car feel cleaner and less flat without major hardware changes.
Turbo diesels often respond with stronger torque, especially through the middle of the rev range.
Supported turbo petrol engines can gain power and response, while naturally aspirated engines may show smaller gains.
Diagnostics first
A Stage 1 remap is not a repair for unresolved faults. PPG checks suitability first and avoids using tuning to mask mechanical, emissions or drivability problems.
Send registration, mileage, gearbox type, modifications and any warning lights or recent repair history before booking.
PPG checks fault codes and basic suitability. If the vehicle is not healthy enough to tune, diagnosis comes before calibration.
The ECU software is identified, the original file is retained where supported, and the Stage 1 calibration is written using suitable tools.
You leave with realistic guidance on fuel quality, servicing, driving style and the warranty or guarantee terms that apply.
Suitability
Advertised gains can be up to 40% more power and 30% more torque on some supported vehicles, but results are vehicle-dependent. Calculator figures are estimates unless measured on a suitable rolling road.
Belfast route
PPG supports Belfast remapping customers from the 36A Donaghadee Road workshop in Newtownards. This keeps the process controlled, with diagnostics, file reading and aftercare handled properly before the vehicle leaves.
FAQs
Stage 1 ECU remapping is £275 including VAT for suitable healthy vehicles.
It depends on the vehicle condition, software and use. PPG checks suitability first and avoids using tuning to mask faults.
Yes. Turbo diesels often gain strong torque, while turbo petrol engines can gain power and response. Naturally aspirated vehicles may show smaller gains.
Calculator figures are estimates. Measured before-and-after figures require suitable rolling-road testing.
No. Limp mode, warning lights and fault codes should be diagnosed before tuning. A remap is not a substitute for a repair.
Use the booking link, remap checker or WhatsApp PPG with your registration, mileage, gearbox type, modifications and any warning lights or recent fault history.
Estimated figures only. PPG confirms suitability before tuning.
