If you have been waiting to remap your Hyundai or Kia after being told that its SIM2K-510 ECU was unsupported, there is now a date to plan around.
Magicmotorsport has announced 30 October 2026 as the scheduled release date for its Hyundai and Kia SIM2K-510 development with FLEX. At Prestige Performance Group in Newtownards, we are preparing for that release and taking appointment requests from 30 October onwards.
Around 50 customers have already contacted us about this development. For many, the frustration has been straightforward: they wanted a professional remap or help understanding their vehicle's options, but ECU programming access stood in the way.
Our job is to turn that technical development into a clear answer for you: what can be done on your car, what the work involves and what it will cost.
What Is the Continental SIM2K-510 ECU?
The ECU is the computer that manages your engine. It uses information from sensors to control fuelling, manage torque, monitor faults and, where applicable, regulate turbo boost. It also communicates with other systems in the vehicle.
SIM2K-510 is an ECU family associated with Hyundai and Kia applications. It is the controller inside the vehicle that matters, rather than the badge on the bonnet alone.
Two cars with the same model name can have different engines, controllers or software. That is why we check your particular vehicle before confirming a programming service.
You may also wonder why another garage could read your fault codes but could not remap the car. Reading diagnostic information and changing the engine calibration are separate jobs. Access to one does not automatically provide access to the other.
Why Have Owners Been Told Their Car Cannot Be Remapped?
Modern engine computers have protections around programming. A workshop needs equipment with a supported procedure for the exact ECU and software before it can carry out the intended work.
If that procedure was unavailable, the responsible answer was to explain that programming was not supported, rather than attempt an unsuitable method.
That does not mean there is something wrong with your car, and it does not mean all diagnosis and repair work has to stop. It means the programming route needed for that job was not available.
The forthcoming release is welcome because it is directed at an ECU family owners have been waiting for. We will check the released instructions against your vehicle and explain what they mean in practical terms.
What Happens on 30 October 2026?
Magicmotorsport has set 30 October as the scheduled release date. We are preparing our workshop process so that customers can discuss appointments from that date onwards.
The important distinction is between a release being announced and a particular service being confirmed for your car. The final instructions will establish the supported applications and operations.
We will handle those checks. You will receive a clear explanation of whether we can carry out the requested work, whether your vehicle needs any repairs first, and the agreed cost before we proceed.
The date comes from Magicmotorsport’s official SIM2K-510 announcement, published on 15 October 2026. Programming bookings remain subject to the actual release and individual compatibility.
Thinking About a Stage 1 Remap?
For many customers, the aim is a car that feels more responsive in everyday use: useful mid-range torque, smoother delivery and more confident acceleration.
A suitable Stage 1 calibration can improve those characteristics on supported vehicles. The right result depends on the engine, transmission, existing condition and the calibration options available for that application.
At Prestige Performance Group, we develop vehicle-appropriate calibrations using professional software including WinOLS. We focus on how the car drives and on suitable operating limits, rather than chasing an impressive-looking power figure.
Your car's health comes first. If it has a warning light, a boost problem, poor running or an emissions fault, we investigate that before recommending additional performance.
Our Stage 1 ECU remapping service explains the process. We will discuss realistic expectations for your vehicle once compatibility is confirmed; we are not quoting unverified SIM2K-510 gains. You should also tell your insurer about an intended modification.
AdBlue Warnings, DPF Problems or NOx Faults?
You do not have to wait until 30 October to ask us about a warning light or running problem. Existing diagnostic work is separate from the forthcoming programming release.
If your Hyundai or Kia has an AdBlue warning, a no-start countdown, repeated regeneration problems or an engine-management light, contact us with the exact message and any fault codes you have.
Our assessment follows the symptoms and the evidence. Depending on the systems fitted, we examine DPF loading and pressure readings, exhaust temperatures, AdBlue dosing, SCR performance, NOx monitoring and EGR operation.
Not every AdBlue warning needs a new tank. Not every NOx fault proves the sensor is defective. Not every DPF warning calls for cleaning or replacement. Checking wiring, pressure pipes, sensor readings and engine operation can make a significant difference to the repair decision.
Our AdBlue and SCR diagnostic support, DPF assessment and DPF cleaning services start with establishing what is wrong.
Where the released ECU access supports an appropriate software-related repair procedure, we will explain it alongside the findings. Software cannot physically repair a broken sensor, damaged filter or failed dosing component. Our work is aimed at correct operation and compliant repair, not removing or disabling road-vehicle emissions controls.
How Do I Find Out Whether My Car Is Suitable?
Start by sending us your registration, engine details if known, and what you want help with. If another workshop has already provided a diagnostic report or ECU identification, send that too.
You do not need to remove the ECU or buy specialist equipment. We will tell you what information is needed and arrange identification where appropriate.
We are not treating every Hyundai or Kia as a SIM2K-510 vehicle. Exact model, engine and software coverage for the forthcoming FLEX release still needs confirmation. A model name alone cannot establish that.
Once we have the relevant identification and released coverage, we can give you an answer about your car rather than a general promise about the whole range.
What Can You Expect at Prestige Performance Group?
- We confirm your vehicle and ECU identification.
- We review symptoms, fault codes and relevant diagnostic information.
- We check the condition of the engine and supporting systems.
- We confirm equipment support for the intended operation.
- We obtain the appropriate original calibration or backup where the supported method provides it.
- For suitable remapping work, we develop a vehicle-appropriate calibration.
- We follow the required programming and verification process with suitable voltage support.
- We complete post-programming checks and a road test where appropriate.
You will know the proposed work and agreed cost before it goes ahead. If the assessment identifies a repair that should come first, we will explain why.
FLEX provides programming-tool capability; WinOLS supports calibration development. Neither replaces proper assessment. Our customers are paying for the checks, judgement and workmanship behind the result, as well as the programming itself.
Already Waiting? Email Us to Arrange the Next Step
If you are one of the approximately 50 customers who has contacted us, email us to confirm your interest and tell us what you would like help with. Being on our waiting list records your interest, but does not reserve a workshop slot.
We are approaching a busy winter period and availability is beginning to tighten. Include any preferred appointment dates from 30 October onwards, and let us know whether your enquiry concerns remapping or a fault.
We will confirm the appointment details and what can be carried out. If the release changes or your ECU requires a different approach, we will discuss that with you before programming goes ahead.
Email Your Interest
Email info@prestigeperformancegroup.co.uk with the subject “Hyundai / Kia SIM2K-510”. Tell us your vehicle registration, model and engine if known, what you would like help with, and any warning messages or fault codes.
Include your name, contact number and any preferred appointment dates from 30 October onwards. We will check the relevant details and explain the next step before programming is confirmed.
Prefer to request an appointment online? Our existing booking portal remains available. If you are unsure which service to select, email us first.
For a current warning light or AdBlue countdown, ask about diagnosis now. The release date is a milestone for programming support, not a reason to leave an existing fault unattended.
Frequently Asked Questions
When will SIM2K-510 support become available?
Magicmotorsport's scheduled release date is 30 October 2026. We are taking appointment requests from that date and will confirm the available service for your ECU before programming.
Can my Kia Sportage be remapped?
Send us your registration and we will check. Sportage models can have different engines and ECUs, so we confirm the individual vehicle rather than assume coverage from the model name.
Can my Hyundai Tucson be remapped?
Contact us with your registration and what you would like to achieve. We will identify the relevant ECU and check the released programming coverage before confirming the work.
Is the SIM2K-510 ECU currently locked?
If you have been told it is locked or unsupported, that usually describes a programming-access limitation. It does not automatically prevent ordinary diagnostic checks. We will explain the position for your car.
Will the new release support Stage 1 tuning?
Stage 1 enquiries are welcome now. We will confirm the released calibration-programming operations and your vehicle's suitability before offering the work or quoting performance figures.
Will it support AdBlue and NOx fault solutions?
We can assess those faults now. Any additional software procedure depends on the released functionality and our findings. We will recommend appropriate, compliant repairs rather than assume a warning needs a software change.
Can you diagnose DPF faults before programming support is released?
Yes. Contact us about an assessment now. Diagnostic investigation is separate from the forthcoming calibration-programming release.
Will every Hyundai and Kia vehicle be covered?
No. Different vehicles use different controllers and software. We check your ECU and the requested service so you receive advice for your car.
Do I need to confirm my ECU type first?
You do not need to identify it yourself. Send your registration and any existing reports; we will advise on the identification needed before programming is confirmed.
Can I reserve an appointment now?
Email your interest with your registration and preferred dates from 30 October onwards, or use our existing booking portal. We will confirm workshop availability and compatibility. Registering interest alone does not reserve a slot.
What happens if the release is delayed?
We will discuss the revised options with you, including rescheduling programming or carrying out appropriate diagnostic work. We will not proceed with an unsupported programming method.
